Traffic congestion and parking problems.

Traffic congestion and parking problems are major problems which the biggest cities in the world are suffering from and no doubt Abu Dhabi is one of them.

One major cause of the traffic congestion and parking problems is the increase of the number of cars in Abu Dhabi. There are several factors for this cause such as the average number of cars in each family in Abu Dhabi which is at least two cars and the increase of young drivers every year. Another major cause is the rapid growth of the economy and because of that the numbers of tourists are increasing every year which leads to an increase in taxi cars. The fact that Abu Dhabi is an island and we can’t expand it and the increase of construction sites are also considered as major causes. The last cause is the hot weather in the city and of course no one will walk in this weather.

There are several solutions to solve this problem. One solution is to create a modern public transportation which connects all parts of Abu Dhabi with each other like metro and bus stations. Another solution is we can put huge fines on the person who has more than one car. Yet another solution is that we can relocate the major places outside Abu Dhabi such as the ministries, universities and colleges.

In conclusion I think these solutions will not solve the problem even if we create public transportation and we put fines no one will use the public transportation because of the tradition of the citizens.

Dangerous driving& mobile phones

People have been arguing about using mobile phones while driving: whether it should be banned or not. In my opinion I think using mobile phones while driving is dangerous, but it is necessary sometimes.
First I will begin with the arguments which are against the statement. The main argument is that mobile phones have become an important part of your lives especially here in the UAE. Another argument is that the businessmen need their mobile phones all the time and if they can’t use their phones deals will drop. Yet another argument is that mobile phones could help the drivers when they have a problem in their cars especially for old people and women.
There are also a number of arguments that support the statement. The main argument is that using mobile phones while driving is very dangerous and it could lead to serious accidents and that is because using mobile phones distracts your attention from the road and reduces your reaction’s speed. Another argument is that sometimes when the phones ring while driving could scare you and this could cause an accident. Recent research has shown that the death rate of car accidents in the UAE is very high and using mobile phones while driving is one of the reasons. We should put a strict law for using mobile phones while driving especially when people don’t care.
In conclusion, I think the roads would be safer if mobile phones were banned. However, mobile phones should be used only if it’s an emergency.

Population growth

The graph shows population growth in richer and poorer countries between 1750 and 2150. Overall the growth in poorer countries has increased sharply.

The biggest increase in growth in rich countries was in 2000 at about one billion and then it will remain constant with perhaps a little decrease according to the estimates from the UN and the Population Reference Bureau. According to the graph the most significant increase was in less developed countries in 2000 at about 6.1 billion and according to the estimates it will still increase and it will reach ten billion in 2150.
In conclusion, according to the estimates from the UN and the Population Reference Bureau the growth in poorer countries is more than in rich countries and that may be because of the pollution in rich countries which comes from factories and cars and affects people’s health.

Raising children to be competitive or cooperative

There are two ways the parents can raise their own children to make them successful in their future life and set their own place in the society. The two ways are competition and co-operation. In my opinion, raising the children in a co-operative way is better, but competition is also needed.
First I will begin with the arguments which are with the competition’s way. The first argument is that encouraging children to be competitive is good because they need it to get higher marks in school and get a good job and promotion in the future. Another argument is that our country needs leaders who must be competitive to lead us onwards. Some jobs need creative and competitive people especially in industrial companies and these companies are always in competition. Yet another argument is that in areas like sports competitiveness is normal and healthy and without it there is no joy in sports.
Now I will talk about the reasons why I prefer raising children in a co-operative way. The first reason is that in the real world, at school and afterword’s, people need to co-operate with others; especially teamwork is very important in many jobs these days. Yet another reason is that teaching children to co-operate with others will make them be helpful and will increase their self-esteem.
In conclusion, although I prefer the children to be raised in a co-operative way I would add that competition is needed also. This is because when people can be competitive and co-operative at the same time they will have a very successful life.

economic growth vs global warming

People have been arguing about the impact of economic growth which is the increasing amount of greenhouse gases that leads to a rise in the rate of global warming.

No doubt that the global economic growth is a good thing especially when the big companies such as Mcdonald’s and Nike are providing job opportunities for those who need these jobs and it decreases the rate of idleness in poor countries such as India and the Philippines where they build their huge factories . In countries like India there are many married men in the countryside far away from the civilization who are working very hard every day just to provide for their family’s needs. For those men whose main aim in life is providing the best life to their family they are thankful to these companies.

On the other hand, many scientists believe that climate change is a threat to the future of the planet and if the economic growth is still increasing it will increase the amount of harmful gases such as greenhouse gases which are the main cause of global warming so the rate of greenhouse gases will be very high in India because it has many big factories and if the rate is still going up India will suffer more than any other country from global warming as the scientists are saying.

In conclusion, economic growth is a good thing for poor countries but it’s also causing a huge problem which is global warming. In my opinion I would say that economic growth will not lead to the destruction of our planet.

Age of Marriage

The bar graph shows us the decline, over the past few decades, in percentage of women aged 15-19 who are married in many Arabs countries. The table gives us the age of first marriage for men and women in many Arab countries, plus Turkey and Iran.

From the chart graph we figure out that the percentage of women between fifteen and nineteen who are married has fallen during the past few decades. The UAE had the most dramatic fall in the percentage of young women who are married, followed by Libya and Kuwait.

The table of age of first marriage demonstrated the men’s marriage were in the mid and late 205.On the other hand the women’s marriage was in the early to mid 205.

UAE saw the most dramatic fall in the number of teenage brides. In addition the women marriage in the other countries dropped considerably which means more women these days are facing difficulties in marriage.

Traffic congestion

Traffic congestion is a serious problem anywhere in the world but in the island of Abu Dhabi its worse because if a main street is blocked it causes a delay in almost all the island. Now I’m going to discuss the causes and solutions of traffic jams in Abu Dhabi.
First of all, the population increases all around the UAE. Another problem is that there are more females and young drivers. One more cause of traffic jams in Abu Dhabi is that there are more tourists which means more taxis and buses going around in Abu Dhabi. Another problem is the summer climate in Abu Dhabi. It is so hot that people have to drive instead of walking in over 32 C weather.
Now I’m going to discuss the solution of these problems. First we need more parking in Abu Dhabi and more fines for people who cause accidents. Second we need to make the application of driving licenses available at the age of 21. Third Abu Dhabi needs a policy on the taxis drivers and bus drivers that they need to have an experience on Abu Dhabi roads. Finally is the summer climate and because we have a high temperature in the summer we need a metro so people don’t use their own cars.
In conclusion, the most important problem is the population increase and the best solution to this is to make the important buildings outside the island.
