The UK budget in 1996.

The pie chart gives information about how the UK government was spending £315 billion in 1996.
The biggest expenditure was on social security which was £ 100 billion and it is almost double the amount that was spent on health and personal social services which was £ 53 billion. Another huge expenditure was in education and it was probably an annual increase in the schools and colleges equipment. The next category is debt interest with £25 billion. After that comes the other expenditure and the defense expenditure was £ 1 billion less that the other expenditure. Three more costs industry, agriculture and employment. The lowest spending was on transport with £ 9 billion.
The pie chart shows that social security and health and personal social services comprised almost half of the UK government budget in 1996.
